Cheney would probably seethe at both, but I don't think he would do much publicly. Perhaps he would use any of the influence that he still possesses to have Paul choose a more hawkish running mate, like Rubio.

If Paul is the nominee, he'll likely choose someone with more Neoconservative views as his VP, so I doubt the Dick will endorse a Democrat anytime soon

Plus, in order for Rand to actually get the nomination, he'll need to pander to the neocons, which will make him more palatable to Cheneyites.

In the unlikely scenario where Rand does not pander to the neocons yet wins the nomination anyway, he'll probably endorse nobody, and secretly hope for Rand's failure so he can say "see, isolationism doesn't play well, let's go back to tradition next time".

Probably demand Paul get a neocon on the ticket or endorse a third party bid.

If I was Rand and I chose a neocon VP, I'd be really worried if I win the election.

He would keep quiet. People too quickly assume that if he doesn't like a GOP ticket he would have to endorse the Dems. Who knows who he'd vote for, but we wouldn't hear much.

I'm sure he would vote for Clinton but wouldn't make a public endorsement.

I think people are forgetting that Cheney is not worrying so much about his political career at this point as he is his daughter Liz's political future.  For Cheney to openly endorse the Democratic nominee over the GOP nominee would probably kill the Cheney brand among the Republican base.  Thereby, also killing most of Liz's ambitions within the party.  It would also hurt the hawkish/neocon cause within the Party and with the base.  The hawks/neocons would begin to be viewed as  traitors to the Party and base.
