Yep, Peter's right.  That would be unconstitutional.

It's been a long time since I read the Atlasian Constitution.  Could you give me a reference link?

It's been a long time since I read the Atlasian Constitution.  Could you give me a reference link?

Under Section 1 Clause 5 of the Powers of the Senate and the Regions Amendment, the federal Senate has power "To establish uniform rules of ... Marriage and Divorce ... throughout Atlasia".

Beyond the fact that the matter can only be legislated on federally, the issue is also settled in Atlasia: Gay marriage is accepted in Atlasia and probably all leftist candidates, most centrist candidates and a few rightist candidates have said they will not support an attempt to repeal the Marriage Equity Act which established gay marriage.

The Atlas Wiki has the best content of the Constitution, Amendments and what-not.  I think a couple of Acts, as well as the Powers of the Senate specify this, though I could be wrong.

The New Constitution specifies that the federal government has the control over rights to marry and divorce.

Though I would have opposed that, it was passed while I wasn't there and it is not a life or death issue to me frankly.

It isn't really to me, either.  I was just trying to cover all the issues, so people would know where I stand.

Actually they have all right and authority to. We aren't reading into the Constitution here. It clearly states that the federal government decides marriage policy not the Regions.
