If the RINO party would desire millions of conservatives staying home again, this would be their guy.

I'm actually starting to think that he will run, but I don't know if he could win the nomination. If he did, he would start out as a major underdog against Clinton, and a slight underdog against someone like Warner or Gillibrand, but he could probably defeat Democrats like Biden or O'Malley by 3-5 points.

I have my doubts that Romney would take the vice-presidential slot. It would definitely depend on the presidential candidate offering. I suspect that he would readily accept the running mate slot under someone like Christie. Still, I don't think that Romney would get offered the VP slot regardless of whether he ran for the nomination or not.

He will have a campaign-in-waiting that will serve as the GOP's "break glass in case of emergency" option.

If no acceptable candidate emerges after IA/NH/SC and the field is still fragmented between a bunch of candidates (particularly if those three states are all won by different candidates), Romney will have lawyers on hand to get him on the ballot for later contests and will start sending emissaries to other candidates politely asking them to step aside for the good of the party.

Mitt Romney 3.0 is going to run on a ticket with Mitt Romney 2.0. The human vote will be divided, but the pick will be a boon for the robot vote. They will win a vast majority of the robot states, and thus, the White House, which they will paint red with the blood of humans.

This seems plausible.

I hope not. I'm bored of him. Is he seriously considering running again?

If he runs a great campaign, learns from all his mistakes from 2012, and has a strong VP candidate, I see no reason that he should lose.

No, he won't, but he will play a big role in campaigning.

The need to kill this myth is why mittens should not run.

Anybody who wants Romney to run again is either wanting Republicans to lose or is seriously mentally ill. The very fact this lousy candidate is getting so much buzz is proof that the GOP not only has no ideas but is too incompetent or stupid to even pretend to have new ideas.

I voted yes. I think he may run, but he won't win the nomination, IMO unless the 2016 field is uninspiring.

Part of me wants Ted Cruz to get the nod. Once the sociopath is crushed, the "moderates" loose nonsense will be finally put to bed.

My dream is Mitt pursues a floor nomination in a good ol' fashioned brokered convention--after the likely 2016 GOP primary train wreck. Frankly, I see this as likely him running out right (not very, for those keeping score at home).

I am becoming more and more excited at the possibility...

That being said, I am leaning towards no at the moment. That being said, I think if the 2016 field continues to get weaker, I could see Romney entering either in the summer or even early fall 2015. Make it seem like "I don't want to run, but we need someone strong to beat Hillary and this field isn't going to cut it."

Yeah,  you need a strong Republican candidate to beat Hillary and when I think of "strong Republican candidates", I think of Mitt Romney. He has quite the proven record when it comes to elections.

Seriously? I think he might, but probably won't. The field looks weak now, but there wasn't a weaker field than there was in 2012. Romney won't go through a coronation even if he runs, though I could see "moderates" in the party running toward someone as ideologically unidentifiable as him once again.

If Romney runs again, he would face the same criticism from Republican activists, that he isn't conservative enough in their way, and the Massachusetts health care plan (which is Obamacare) , but he won the nomination in 2012, so we'll see if he runs again, if he could get the nomination.

I hope to God not. If the Republicans want to win, they need someone who is more charismatic, less likely to be pinned as elitist, and more likely to gain Independents AND keep the base satisfied. If you ask me, the last factor hurt Romney the most. He had a slight advantage with Independents, but several Republicans stayed home.

Those conservatives sure are a strange type. They may complain about the lazy do-nothings, and they may be incredibly active in politics, but dammit on election day they just can't get up the energy to go vote.
