I think he would seriously consider if he thought whatever Democrat being nominated was beatable, but what would be the point of going through all of that again just to lose to Hillary?

Romney was confident he would beat Obama despite all evidence to the contrary, so why not Hillary?

Romney's name stays alive as long as there is no viable mainstream GOPer who can appeal to the moderates. But eventually one will show up and he will fade away.

BTW, on the old canard that conservatives didn't show up in 2012, in reality (I know a liberal construct to be sure) they were a larger part of the electorate than any recent election with exit polling data...
% of voters calling selves "Conservative"
1980   28
1984   33
1988   33
1992   30
1996   34
2000   29
2004   34
2008   34
2012   35

The irony is that Romney lost because he pandered to the conservatives so much, he lost his appeal to the moderates.

Charles Scaramucci, finance committee co-chair for Romney’s 2012 campaign, stated that he believes Romney will run in 2016.

The ship has sailed, it's almost 2015 not 2012 anymore.

The Republican Party itself is feeding the "RINOs". When Mitt Romney is included in primary polling, he leads, by a lot. Its a joke of a party when they want the same guy that clearly failed two years ago.

if Jeb declines and Christie proves to be damaged goods, Romney looks to be the candidate that can best keep the money people in control of the party - and that's what matters.  Cruz and Paul are too idiosyncratic to completely control.

Can you imagine how boring a general election between Mitt Romney and Hillary Clinton would be?

At this moment reading the tea leaves, Romney is going to wait until after the mid terms. There is to much chatter and whatever he does, it will be good for Mitt Romney. He has a perfect issue, "Obama" his rationale if he avails of it, is more or less claim, "you reelected that one and look where we are. Exactly where I said we be....in the ditch" Well many of you will get my drift. That's why I pushing for Romney two years ago.  Look at my earlier posts from then. Hate to say I told you so...well not really. But I did.

The foreign policy debate would literally be the most boring thing in the world.

Personally I think it would be very entertaining to see Hillary curbstomp the etch a sketch and deliver him his third consecutive loss.

No, he won't run, but the number of conservative pundits speculating on a Romney run at any given time will be a good barometer of how panicked the Republican establishment is feeling.

Yes, and I'll agree with the desk that I would be hitting my head over and over with.

It'd be painful if he would. Not only would it show that the GOP lacks of competent candidates, but if he'd lose again, it'd give the Republicans a real slap to the face. I think his party will simply recommand to not do it and support the campaign with his money instead.

Or, I wish he wouldn't run again. He is a strong candidate but he should wait.

God I hope so. I've thoroughly enjoyed his last two concession speeches, and look forward to a third.

Mitt Romney had to drown Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum in cash to win the GOP nomination in 2012, if he ran again he would get smoked.

If the donor class actually pushes for him to run, we can finally put to rest the idea that the GOP establishment 'faction' is somehow more sane than the Tea Party 'faction'.

Yes, and he'll crush Santorum first then annihilate Clinton.

I bet you that 47% of the time his etch a sketch will be severely conservative and oppose his own ideas.

I agree that the idea of Romney losing a third time is funny but having to sit through an entire campaign of Mitt Romney again? We already know everything. We already have seen him debate, seen his ads etc. There is nothing exciting about having to sit through yet another campaign of Mitt Romney. I for one am sick and tired of him.
