I'm just joking, Adam. I don't think a situation like this would put anyone in invaligate territory. It's just kind of a major f-ck up all around. I sent out some GOTV stuff at midnight. I guess it was stupid of me, but the ballot box said EDT in one place and Atlas time in another, and since the Atlas time displayed for me was the EDT time, I didn't really think much about it.

And yeah, my PM block just unfroze too, so at least I wasn't the only one who made this mistake.

That's going to be Homely's call - applying the law... I think it would be hard to accept them. Because accepting them this time sets a precedent. But in the end, it's his decision.

Yes, but he made an error in the ballot booth that these gave these voters legitimate reason to believe that their votes would be counted.

It doesn't set a precedent so much as it just rectifies his mistake with a ruling that errs on the side of democracy.

I suppose the best way to resolve this is as follows. All ballots cast before the election began at 0:00 EST will be ruled invalid. This consists of the ballots of Hamster, mah519, tmthforu94, ElectionsGuy, Spiral and ChairmanSanchez. When I'm finished writing this post, I will send a PM to each of them with an apology and an invitation to re-cast their ballot during the remaining 55 hours of the election without penalty. Since their ballots were not cast during the actual, legal  hours of the election, I'll consider them not to have been cast at all.

Again, I apologize for my carelessness. I accept responsibility for this whole crisis, and I'd like to suggest again that you may want to consider replacing me as SoFE. But I'd also like to suggest to all the voters that you take care to read the ballot before you vote. There's no need to be the very first person to cast his or her ballot in an election that lasts for 72 hours. If the ambiguity was noticed by each voter, then they would need only to wait until 0:00 EST before casting their vote to be absolutely sure to avoid any trouble.
