The FIFA ranking is completely terrible. The ELO ranking is a lot better, imo.

Hmm, well, thankfully for them (I can personally hardly and hardly look at that with still a bit of passion), France's score doesn't matter in that one, because, lately, the guys of our football team are too busy doing, well, 'some other stuffs'...

Sports rankings are always... dubious... but those in football may well be the worse. Like 0% useful.

FIFA's rankings are awful - especially when compared to the UEFA's one for Europe. Wales rose into the top ten for a bit on the basis that they didn't play any friendly matches - which gave them more points than if they did. A ranking system is flawed if a country can rise up the rankings on the basis that they didn't play games...

There was a Austria vs. Switzerland friendly game yesterday in Vienna.

The French national anthem was played before the game (the first time so far a third national anthem was played besides the 2 regular national anthems), a minute of silence was held and players played with black ribbons.

Also, security was heavily upped with every person entering the stadium searched and body-frisked.
