Because after the tournament is before the tournament Smiley

And it's not actually long until qualifying begins.

This should be interesting especially because 24 nations will qualify for the tournament for the first time (as opposed to 16 so far).

Sweden probably finishes above you, but Austria with its recent strength shouldn't have too much trouble finishing better than Russia.

Despite being second seeds I can't say I fancy our chances

I'll go with
A - Netherlands, Turkey
B- Belgium, Bosnia
C - Spain, Ukraine
D - Germany, Poland
E - England, Switzerland
F - Romania, Greece
G - Sweden, Russia
H - Italy, Croatia
I - Portugal, Serbia

with 5 other qualifiers so I'll go with: Czech Republic, Wales (hey, it's time), Slovenia, Montenegro and Denmark

Hey! I'm supposed to start these! Wink It helps me cope with another tournament ending/Italy not winning it all. Tongue

Italy will be in for a challenge for first place in the group since we always fail to beat Croatia. Norway and/or Bulgaria could make it interesting for third.

Scotland's form is spectacularly good right now. Not that that ever counts for much when we get to the qualifiers Cheesy However, I think we have a strong chance of finishing second in the group.

It's a weak group so, yes, I think you have a good chance. So do we as it happens. But both of us would probably crash and burn come the actual tournament....

Klose retires from the German National Team (the 2nd player already after Lahm).

Klose retires from the German National Team (the 2nd player already after Lahm).

The man is 36 years old, he recently became world champion and replaced Ronaldo as the all-time world cup top goalscorer. 2014 was the highpoint of his career and there's nothing left for him to achieve (short of becoming head coach of the national team one day maybe Tongue ).

His resignation makes sense, certainly moreso than Lahm's.

The only thing surprising about this news is that it came this late.

Klose is a legend. One of the great international strikers. He will be missed, but I'm so glad he got to go out on top.

Yeah, I'm really happy for Klose and damn proud. As said, very logical of him to call it a career, he has achieved everything a striker can hope for. Deserves more recognition than he gets and is one of my favourite players from the last decade.

Lahm, on the other hand, WTF. The guy is not old enough and too important for Germany to pull sh*t like this.

Klose's earned every bit of his retirement. Lahm less so.

Antonio Conte is the new Italy coach. With my luck, his consecutive title winning will now end.

Italy vs. The Netherlands Friendly tomorrow. Antonio Conte's first match in charge of La Nazionale in Bari, one of the first places where he got his coaching start.

It also marks the return of the always disgusting Guus Hiddink.

The first game for 2016 coming up on Monday:

AUT vs. SWE

Ibrahimovic is once again in good shape, so this will be tough to win.

I predict a 3-2 for Sweden.

Anyone else think that the move from 16 to 24 teams was a bad thing? It's become far less of a tight, no-room-for-error competition and almost makes qualifying redundant if half of the UEFA makes it in.
