Yeah, it was in Iceland. In a stadium with 10,000 attendance (i.e. about 3% of the country).

It would be great if Iceland and the Czechs ended up advancing out of the group instead of the horrible Dutch.

The Dutch would almost surely be the best third place team in the qualifying group stage though and that team also gets an automatic spot in the finals.

Looking ahead just a bit, UEFA announced London (Wembley) will host the Semi Finals and Final of Euro 2020.

Baku, Azerbaijan will host several Group stage matches.

Thank you Gazprom for the matches in St. Peterburg!

Glad there is no corruption in international football organisations.

So, it's time again. Sweden hosts Russia tonight and I expect us to be soundly trashed. But here's to hoping.

We play against a country called "Moldova" today, abroad.

I predict a 3-1 win.

AUT: 2
MOL: 1

The bad thing is that Marc Janko (who scored the 2-1) got a red card in the 80th minute or so, for slightly punching the Mol. goalkeeper and will miss the home game on Sun. against Montenegro.

The home game against MON is a must win if we want to qualify.

On the same day The Biter returns to international duty, Giorgio Chiellini did the following in Italy's Euro home opener against Azerbaijan: scored opening goal, conceded an own goal late and scored the winner even later.

I had really hoped Conte would get us in line and break the tradition of us barely beating or drawing with joke sides. I guess some traditions will never die.

Oh and I just found out Spain lost to Slovakia. I can't even laugh at that.

Del Bosque needs to be put out to pasture. Casillas too.

If you look at the summary video (with a crappy Russian commentary), we could & should actually have won by 5:0 or 10:0, but as usual a ton of chances were missed:

I know it's no longer a minnow side but Iceland are beating The Netherlands 2-0. The Dutch are really living on the edge these days.

Wales is top of the table! Is it possible? We could qualify without having to go through the playoffs.
