Too bad the Dem candidate isn't white - it would have been interesting to see what percentage of the AAs Scott would have pulled

She actually is white, but I don't expect Scott to do better than 10% anyway. Most black voters vote for the (D), not by skin color.

She is African American, but if she wasn't the Democratic nominee, it would have been another African American, Rick Wade, who withdrew from the race a few months ago.

Dickerson isn't as strong as Wade would have been, but Scott, a Tea Partier, isn't going to outperform among African Americans because of his skin color. Blacks will still reliably vote for Dickerson. Oh, and safe R, of course - Graham/Hutto/Ravenel will be the one to watch.

The only thing worthwhile about that race was the primary and that wasn't even special

This is the only the second black-on-black (lol) Senate election after Illinois 2004, isn't it?

I guess she isn't white (I did check before, though I didn't see in detail). Anyway, she's the lightest black person I've ever seen.
