I chose Governor pretty easily, since I think the position is probably generally a lot closer to the job of President, especially in regards to dealing with a legislature.

On the other hand, if the poll option was between say Mayor of New York City and Governor of Wyoming...hmm...

Thank you, Orser for your proposal. Wink

I'm not talking about the current officeholders, but about the two offices in general.

The Mayor of New York will probably have better views on the issues.

The Governor of Wyoming will still have more executive power than the Mayor of New York City, and seeing as Wyoming doesn't have several of the problems NYC has, I'd argue Wyoming. The governors of Wyoming also tend to be less controversial and arrogant than the Mayors of NYC (certainly the last three: Rudy, Bloomberg, DiBlasio).

The Governor, as the Governor has had more executive power, and while Wyoming is the least populous state, a state is a state, and running a state has different responibilities than running a city, although the Mayor of NYC does have a lot of responsibilities.

This being said, the Governor of Wyoming does administer an entire state, not a subsection thereof like the Mayor of NYC does.

Who's more qualified?  Mead. Who would I vote for?  DiBlasio.

Being Mayor of NYC has to be a more exhausting job than being Governor of Wyoming (hence why I'd rather be the latter), so definitely the Mayor by far.

I'd go with the NYC Mayor. Not only would the NYC Mayor have more national familiarity, but as Mung Beans said, the issues would really have to play into this decision when Wyoming's Governor top and main priority in the state in terms of issues is on energy production, specifically, coal which their current Governor thinks is still a valuable energy source which is a backwards view just like their other views are.

At least with the NYC Mayor, there's a wider array of ways to oversee the city and while he doesn't have the kind of authority a WY Governor would, it still proves your ability of handling legislative accomplishments when still working with a City Council. NYC isn't isolated from the country that it sometimes feels WY is, either which is apparent in large-scale debates and discussion about the soda ban or NYC '13, but not seeing any talk of Mead anywhere outside of WY. Both De Blasio and Mead are unqualified to be President, though considering bipartisanship is non-existent currently in WY or NYC.

Wyoming budget:$3.2 billion

This was the deciding factor for my vote. Simply put, the Governor of Wyoming wouldn't have dealt with the magnitude of budgetary issues that the Mayor of New York would have. Ergo, the latter would be more suited to be President.

It rather depends on what has happened during their time in office.
