It's international football, but I'm watching the U-20 Women's World Cup final right now between Germany and Nigeria. Surprisingly exciting.

first time post on this thread, my teams are Ajax, Spurs, Hertha Berlin, Marseille and Barcelona.

Ajax and Marseille probably in for a rough/disappointing season based upon results so far, Ajax keeps selling everyone who is a prime talent and giving De Boer little to work with, we got destroyed by a more talented PSV team today that is loaded with talent (DePay, Narsingh, Maher, Wijnaldum etc.).

Hertha hopefully will stay up in the Bundesliga again, our replacement for Adrian Ramos, Julian Schleiber scored twice, team probably needs to pick up some more attack to be able to handle tougher teams, hopefully they sign someone.

Spurs look good, first big test against Liverpool next week though, team is playing much more fluid and aggressive with the new manager, last year was a grease fire, need to find a striker and maybe an extra backline presence, sell some midfielders (have too many guys that basically play similar positions).

The most notable result of the first Bundesliga matchday was Leverkusen's 2:0 win in Dortmund. The Werkself (I had to to this) played a very good pressing and had a good offense, especially in the first half. Bellarabi (came from Braunschweig) scored after mere nine seconds, after which seemed to be an studied move of the whole team through the surprised Dortmund defense rows.

Bayern won, because of Wolfsburg being stupid.

Sadio Mane thrown out of the Red Bull Salzburg squad 1 day before the Malmö game.

Apparently, because he wants to join another club.

That sucks massively, because Mane is one of the best players for Salzburg.

I get that its only the Capital One Cup and that this isn't their starters, but Manchester United is currently losing 3-0 to Milton Keynes Dons.

United ended up losing 4-0 and I think they were home. Van Gaal is officially the new Moyes. Wink

Sadly, the CL will be without Celtic this season after they lost to Maribor. It really annoys me that a team from Slovenian will be in the Group Stage but Napoli might not. Sad

Yeah it sucks, but I think the Salzburg-coach was correct in taking him out of the squad for the Malmö game.

The background:

Salzburg had a final training at home on Monday, before flying to Malmö and 10 minutes into the training, Mane walked off the lawn by saying to the coach "I do not feel well" or "I don't play any longer". The coach sent him to the cabins and wanted to talk to him after the training was over. When the coach went to the cabin, Mane was gone without leaving behind an explaining notice ("AWOL"). The coach tried to call him a few times, but he didn't reply.

Then he was removed from the squad.

Later in the evening, Mane said it was all "a misunderstanding" and that he wanted to personally fly to Malmö and play for the team. The coach still says no.

Mane is mentioned as a transfer candidate to Dortmund or Tottenham. The transfer-window is still open a few days.

Today is the big CL play-off day for Phil (Napoli) and me (Salzburg).

Despite the Mane-problems, I still think that Malmö will be beaten somehow.

I'm not sure though who will win in Phil's game.

Celtic being thumped by both Warsaw and Maribor, as well as by Inverness last week, is both hilarious and well deserved.

Delia Smith is the new Paul le Guen.

If anyone wants to watch the Malmö vs. Red Bull Salzburg game live, you can do so here:

http://sport.puls4.com/uefa-champions-league/live/soccer-uefa-champions-leaguemalmo-ff-swe-fc-red-bull-salzburg-aut/2275

(The stream cannot be watched from outside Austria, which means you have to download the Hola.org plugin for your browser and choose an Austrian server to simulate an Austrian IP adress).

Crappy performance from RBS. Maybe the Mane-thing depressed the players, but Malmö was pretty good anyway (especially their defense).

Yeah, fycking bankers. They nearly sank the entire British economy back in 2008.
