Hull City Fighting Tigers nooooo Cry

Arsenal's draw should be manageable. We always manage to advance from the group, even if we end up limping out in second place. The problem is that we're then up against one of the seeded teams and get knocked out in the round of sixteen. The games against Dortmund last year were fantastic though, so I'm looking forward to those again.

Naturally, one of the Italian sides (Roma) would get the Group of Death. I still think they can progress. Juve should get out of Group A. And go figure: Napoli would have been in the easiest group. At least Italy will be well represented in Europa...

Barça's and Arsenal's groups are tough, too.  Chelsea get a cakewalk again.

Also, in Europa League talk, that Feyenoord match had to be one of the craziest: 1-1 after the first leg, Feyenoord go up 3-0 at home in the 2nd leg, Luhansk get three in a row and are set to go through on away goals only for the Dutch to find a goal in the 92nd minute.

Lulz, Salzburg plays Celtic in the EL.

Just for fun, if they made it to the CL: They would have played Atletico Madrid, Juve & Olympiakos.

Not the slightest French club in CL this year, this country is really sinking everywhere...

At least there is Guingamp (En Avant!), and Saint-Etienne in EL...

Serie A returns in just under four hours with Chievo Verona vs. Juventus. The second match today should actually be truly awesome: Roma vs. Fiorentina.

And Fernando Torres is now officially an AC Milan player. Make whatever jokes you'd like.

It's a good reason to root for our brave Athletic Club* in the CL.

In exchange, I'll wish the best of lucks to Guingamp and Saint-Ettienne in EL. I like how it sounds the latter, and there's an English pop band named Saint-Ettienne as well... Wink

* I mean the gang from Bilbao, Atlético has already a fan on this forum.

Ah, Bilbao...

When it comes to football I defnitely belong to the 1990s Grin.

Hey but look at the fancy chart right now:

A French club is leading the French championship!

Cult hero (joke) Tim Howard has conceded ten goals in three matches. Bwahaha.

Tim Howard is a good goalkeeper. I know you hate America, but don't be an idiot Phil.

Ten goals. Three matches. I'm sure his plastic fans are devastated once they're reminded of who he is!

This is G.R.E.A.T Cheesy Grin

For outsiders, Luis Fernández is a legendary player of the French national team born in Andalusia, in the south of Spain. That picture is from his stage in Bilbao, coaching the Athletic Club. He's wearing a txapela, the traditional basque beret. The image of a man who speaks Spanish with a peculiar French/Andalusian accent wearing that is absolutely priceless.

There is a recent box-office hit in Spain that exploits all the regional common places that you can imagine. The plot is simple: A true-blue Andalusian from Sevilla meets Basque girl. He follows her to a village in the Basque Country, placed in the heartland of the radical pro-independence left. There, he has to impersonate a full-blooded Basque.

A good goalkeeper can't make up for a piss-poor defense.

Don't by a sympathizer. Literally the only redeeming quality about you is that you're not a fanboy of the joke team. Howard has been vastly overrated, a created hero for these tools.

Not debating that and not debating that Howard is overrated by Americans, but I don't think it's a controversial idea that he wouldn't have had to make 15 saves against the Belgians if the American defense hadn't been so awful that game.

Phil you're sounding like a crazy person. Take a deep breath and go back to supporting your Europa League club team and national team that is always eliminated in the group stage.

Stars on my team's crest: four (including one within the last decade that I could enjoy)

I lost count. How many are on your team's?

As for my club team, it will actually have a chance at winning a European title this season as opposed to yours, which will celebrate their traditional Round of 16 exit. And that Europa League team I support has at least won that tournament (technically, Napoli won the predecessor tournament) as opposed to Arsenal, which can never win the tournament it regularly competes in nor that silly little Europa League, for that matter.
