Yes, yes, the Barça loss is excellent.

Sadly, the Genoa Derby was called off due to torrential downpours and a total mess of a pitch.

Phil, can you explain the deal with Parma?

Earlier today, it looked like the club had dissolved and was set to be automatically relegated at the end of the season (which was going to happen anyway this season) with each of their remaining matches being a 0-3 forfeit. However, it turns out that was a false rumor. It's really only a matter of time though.

They actually qualified for a Europa League spot at the end of last season but we're stripped of it because of financial irregularities. That's when all of this heated up. No one at the club has been paid since July 2014! Their match for this weekend has been postponed because they can't afford to operate the stadium. Their youth side was only able to practice today because the gardeners helped out in some way (don't have details). Their facilities don't have electricity so the players have been taking cold showers and keep getting sick. It's truly shocking (and no one make an Italy joke).

It's sad because Parma is a historic club.

Today in the CL:

ManCity vs. Barcelona
Juve vs. Dortmund

My predictions:

3-3
2-0 Juve

Oh, how I'd love for that double miss by Messi to cost Barça a spot in the Quarter finals. Obviously unlikely but just imagine if City get a 2-0 win in the return...

I expect a real goal fest in the Dortmund-Juve return. Should be a treat.

Disappointing but hardly insurmountable result at Bayer, but we can all have a good laugh at Arsenal on the bright side.

It's almost too hard to laugh at that Arsenal result.

What a day for Serie A! All five Europa League Serie A sides advance. And the Prem fails in spectacular fashion (again). Let's take a look at the coefficient rankings now for this season...

1) Spain 14.642
2) Italy 13.833
3) Germany 13.571
4) England 12.857
5) France 10.250

Yeah, Schalke played some amazing football yesterday, incl. their first goal by Fuchs (an Austrian).

Terrible that Real Madrid still advanced to the next round, despite their horrible performance and tons of luck.

Does anyone know where Phil is these days ?

He's almost as silent as Obama. Did not hear much from both of them the past few weeks.

Yes, we can all have a hearty LOL at Chelsea's failure. Only thing left now is for my boys to smash the uppity Bayer and for Monaco to finish off Arsenal.

Worst penalty shoot-out I've watched in my entire life. Jesus.

Luckily both Madrid teams will get the good thrashing they deserve next round, after beating our beloved German underdogs.

Also holy sh[inks], Fox Soccer is so terrible. The studio hosts just welcomed us back from the "bonus time" in Madrid, and are now taking us to "Monaco, France" to watch the other game's highlights.

Yeah, I'd much rather watch the game on a television in HD than on a crappy stream on my laptop...
