Houston Chronicle has reported earlier today TX State AG Greg Abbott (R) has raised almost $50 million in his campaign for the Texas Governor's Mansion against his Democratic opponent, State Senator Wendy Davis (D-Fort Worth), who only raised $27 million with the Battleground Texas group.

Plus, Abbott is already running statewide TV Ads, several of them on Spanish language TV news stations.

No big surprise there.

There's more action downticket than there is at the top. Leticia Van de Putte (Lt Gov) outraised Dan Patrick and Mike Collier (Comptroller) has been raising a decent amount of money.

I'd be curious to see how Sam Houston (AG) performs and how much of it is due to his convenient name.

Glad the abortion barbie is getting thrashed.

Wendy Davis is a pathetic, pandering politician and I am happy Abbott is crushing her.

The title is a bit misleading. Abbott has a 3-to-1 cash-on-hand advantage; he isn't outraising her 3-to-1.

Abbott started this campaign out with $27 million in the bank, and has $23 million more on hand right now than Davis. He's raised $2 million more than she has overall; he's spent $19 million and she's spent $13 million.

Q3 & Q4 2013:

Wendy Davis: $12,200,000
Greg Abbott: $11,500,000

Q1 & Q2 2014:

Greg Abbott: $16,600,000
Wendy Davis: $14,100,000

Total Raised:

Greg Abbott: $28,100,000
Wendy Davis: $26,300,000

Haven't seen any major polling firms on this race yet.
