What were you thinking, as you were looking down from heaven and watching the US elect a black man as President?

Well, since my state of Virginia voted for him, I am happy.

Have you ever done it with a raccoon?

No, I haven't.  But raccoons ARE one of my favorite animals, so it's funny you should ask.

What are your opinions of Pope Benedict XVI, sex-negative feminism, and teetotalers?

Was that Pope the previous one with the Nazi ties?  Awful, of course.  Especially since the current one seems to be very concerned with actual social justice, so the previous Pope looks even worse in comparison.

I don't know what the other two are, and I'm on a very slow internet connection.  If you could explain further, I'd be happy to give you my opinion.

Why exactly are you so against religion?

I see it as the willful and "virtuous" abandon of critical thought, and the main source of prejudice, bigotry, hatred, and conflict in the world.  That is the abbreviated answer.

An interesting poster with a unique brand of cynicism that, while being a bit of a heartless bastard, was utterly hilarious.  I greatly enjoyed reading his posts.  People who go that hard against the grain tend to give you something to think about.

I don't know what the other two are, and I'm on a very slow internet connection.  If you could explain further, I'd be happy to give you my opinion.

I'm pretty sure you wouldn't care for them--sex-negative feminism is next to nonexistent as a proactive movement but is generally a term used semi-sarcastically for a reaction within feminism against sex-positive feminism, a kind commonly associated with perhaps excessive comfort with pornography, prostitution, and overall sexualization of society (typically on what 'sex-negative feminists' consider excessively libertarianesque 'choice' grounds); teetotalers are people who oppose all (non-medicinal, non-religious) consumption of alcohol. My entire question was intended as a joke.

Also, I know this wouldn't affect your opinion all that much nor would I expect it to, but Benedict 'had Nazi ties' in about the same way that Jürgen Moltmann did. That was always one of the more specious criticisms of his papacy.

I figured, just thought I'd ask.  And the Nazi-ties remark is just... ya know.. would I be being myself if I didn't?

Is that like Episcopalianism?  My aunt, uncle, and cousins are Episcopalian, and I used to go to the church they go to.  I'm generally accepting of it, because it would seem that they take from the faith what is useful and fulfilling to them, and reject the gunk.  I do think they can do just as well and probably better without it, but it's not terribly destructive in and of itself.
