I've always pictured you as a young version of Haley Barbour (not necessarily as fat as he is). How accurate is this assessment?

Do I like what in Mississippi, exactly?

I meant everything overall (culture, weather, the people, etc.)

Now I have another question for you. Is there anything you don't like about Mississippi?

Oh sure, the food, music, weather, culture and people are what make this state great.

I can't easily articulate anything I find particularly wrong with Mississippi except DeSoto and Hancock counties.

What's wrong with DeSoto and Hancock?

How would you have voted on the 1933 Western Australia secession referendum?

Good question! Most likely Yes.

Why did you join the Navy? Would you recommend it?

Because I was going through a tough time at home and I made, as I'm known to do, a very rash and impulsive decision that I felt had other financial/career benefits to it.  Whether or not I recommend it is incredibly subjective.  It is not for everyone, as I am learning in a most harsh way.  If you are one to get homesick, don't.

What's with your jihad against Ronald Reagan? It's fine to not like him, but why so extreme?

Because Ronald Reagan is everything I hate about American politics.  The coded racism, the bowing down to corporate interests, the prioritization of upper class profit over middle class advancement, the portrayal of America as a Christian nation.  That's all bad enough... and then on top of it he is revered like no other not named Lincoln or Washington.  The legend of his greatness is so intrinsic to American politics anymore that I have to listen to liberal politicians I generally like endlessly praise him, and I have to serve on a Navy aircraft carrier bearing his name.  I find it insulting and nauseating.

Reminds me of this quote from a piece on Reagan's VP: George Bush was a genuine hero in World War II; Ronald Reagan was in Culver City making movies about it. The irony is that Bush really lives the eternal values so dear to conservatives’ hearts, while Reagan mouths them and winks. Life is unfair, said Jimmy Carter. Maybe history will do better.

DeSoto is a terrible Memphis exurb while Hancock is a terrible New Orleans exurb.  They're the only two counties where a majority of the residents aren't native Mississippians.  And they both voted for McDaniel...enough said.

Hopefully very accurate.  But, then again, I don't really know how you envision a 20-year old Haley Barbour to be.  If the picture in your head is some seersucker-wearing Southern frat boy with a knack for gin and tonics and all things mildly effeminate then you're thinking correctly.

I was pleasantly surprised when Haley and I ended up at the same New Year's Eve party last year.  Much better than showing up to the same Christmas party.

Are there a lot of southern Democrats left around there, or have they pretty much switched?

Does your username have anything to do with Del Taco?  Because that's the only thing I think of when I see it.

Wait, so, did you pee onto the snake or nearby the snake? Did you flee, catching pubes throughout your zipper?

Also, is your signature just you having a bit of a troll?

Should the U.S. begin a ground-invasion of Greenland?
1. I would write-in Donald Rumsfeld in this scenario

2. We should begin a ground-invasion of Greenland, but only because of the oil. We can justify the invasion by claiming that Helle Thorning-Schmidt (the Danish prime minister) is oppressing the people of Greenland, and we can also claim that Denmark is building WMD's.

No I stopped peeing, dribbled on myself and got the hell out. No zipper, gym shorts.  Maybe truth and trolling both.

Louisiana, Virginia or Tennessee.  Significant portions of Florida, Georgia and Texas (basically everything except WTex and DFW) would be acceptable as well.  Of course, D.C. is the where I ideally want to spend the bulk of my young adulthood, and I'm likewise not opposed to the likes of somewhere like Boston, NYC or Chicago.  Certainly nothing on the West Coast though.

I had no idea what Del Taco was until after I got this username.  My username is actually two words smushed together with the space in the wrong place; I'm sure there is some type of term for something like this but it is escaping me at the moment.

The two words smushed together are "Delta Chi", which I chose as my username as I am associated with the Delta Chi chapter of the Kappa Sigma fraternity at Mississippi State.
