Yeah.....I'm not a big fan of a conservative who for the past two decades, has preferred to embarrass my state any chance he gets. He mocks his own Tea Party caucus for not wanting to do anything, but Boehner is the whining grown man full of excuses that's more concerned with finding paths to getting Obama impeached than passing a minimum wage increase, renewing the VRA, working on immigration reform or passing ENDA. One of which now includes using taxpayer money for a task in which Obama has every constitutional right to issue executive power when Boehner is so incompetent that he won't allow Congress to do their jobs. He'd rather live in this fantasy world that he'll be Speaker for another two years.

He's told two girls whose dad's risked getting deported that he was set on passing immigration reform, and then he goes before the press to make lies and excuses and say the House doesn't have the votes to pass it. His biggest accomplishment so far as Speaker is making sure our debts are paid and having a functioning federal government after 17 days of bickering. That's it.

All I can say is, January 3rd, 2015, that will be one of the happiest days in American history.

FF. Most opinions I've heard here in Ohio are along the lines of 'he's a good guy in a tough spot', but nationally it's clear he's being turned into a boogeyman. I'm confident that he'll be reelected in 2015, but at the same time I can't possibly see how he lasts the decade. And I don't know what happens if/when his own caucus forces him out, since I don't think Ryan would be receptive to a draft, I don't know whether McCarthy could unite the caucus or who else could emerge to beat him. The problem is, so long as the Republican majority is narrow (17 seats right now, for instance) the 17 most right-wing members (or most left-wing, or most anything) can and are willing to hold the Speaker hostage to score political points. Boehner has to deal with this, but it won't go away after he's done.

I have taught student with behavior disorders for many years now. They are tough and obstinate. They can do what they are supposed to do but generally choose theatrical histrionics. John Boehner is like a BD Teacher and his caucus the BD students. As a BD teacher you are always wrong no matter what way you choose. The right choice is always to never choose to lower yourself to the behaviors of the class. That is the right choice. One can choose the right way and still be wrong. John Boehner usually decides to lower himself to the level of the worst people in his caucus. Rather than showcase right behaviors he usually trips over himself to showcase the worst ones. That leads to classroom choas and, as we now see, a speaker who has lost control. I pity the poor man and see why he drinks and weeps. Yet, he has none to blame but himself.
