Like I said, I'm totally happy for someone else to step up and offer to organize something in NYC, but if I created a poll, that'd mean the onus would be on me to plan something if more people voted NYC than DC, and I certainly can't plan anything in NYC

Anyway, if you're interested in coming to DC, and haven't weighed in on a date, please vote by... Thursday?  Thursday.

I really want to do this, but again it will really depend on a couple of things. I'm interviewing for jobs now, and if I have a job by then I may not have that weekend off. So my decision may be a last minute thing.

I understand.  It seems like the modal responses are August 23rd, 24th, and 30th.  The 30th is the Saturday of Labor Day weekend, so maybe it'll be easier for people then?  The 30th it is.  I'll see what I can plan.  Any DC folks have ideas for where we can/should meet up?

I with partner Dan will be in Virginia on Aug 30, driving back on Aug 31. I am visiting Mathews County, where the Dunn clan commenced in the New World in the 18th century, to see what I can find, and visiting Williamsburg right across the river, where I can be a bit player in the scenes there, which I enjoy because I am a drama queen.

Unfortunately, given the single response I got to the registration, I'm not sure this is going to be happening this weekend... at least in DC   You folks who are going to be in NYC for Labor Day should try to plan something!

I'll be up in DC on the weekend of September 13-15 for a wedding my family's going to, otherwise, that's the only opportunity I'll have of being in DC in the distant future. It would be really cool to see some of you down the road though!
