Eh, probably rum though I find myself drinking vodka the most. Only one I make an effort to avoid if possible is tequila.

If we're talking straight-up, whiskey and scotch for sure, followed distantly by vodka.

I had a prejudice toward gin but I like a good gin and tonic nowadays. Didn't care for rum but I haven't had it since I was seventeen so I guess I'd be open to trying it again.

Scotch, I guess. I also like the other whiskies well enough and gin is great in the form of gin and tonic. Vodka is tolerable and obviously great in a White Russian. Tequila I can't stand and rum isn't much better.

Definitely rum.

I don't generally drink hard liquor straight. I prefer mixed drinks and rum tends to be my hard liquor of choice. You really can't go wrong with a Rum and Coke. Recently, I've found rum and cranberry juice to be a very good combination. After rum, I'd almost certainly go with vodka.

I can't understand the love of whiskey. The taste is intolerable to me.

Southern Comfort is my favourite, so I guess Liqeours? I like fortified wines, Baileys and other Irish creams and plain old vodka.

I also recently acquired some aquavit from Norway for my Birthday which was awesome.

I'm not that much into 'hard liquors', but that thread definitely lacks of Pastis

It's crazy how I can drink this rather easily, dry or not, while it's at least as strong at whiskey and while I just can't bear that awful latter Anglo beverage [/true French, but actually].

Still needs to taste absynthe.

There are a lot of drinks that I like.  Rum and Coke.  Vod and Bull.  Soco and lime.  However, if I have to down a straight shot... American whiskey is probably the way to go.

The drinking age in this country may be 21, but I've honestly never heard of anyone waiting until then to drink.

In my very brief experiences with alcohol, I've enjoyed Captain and Coke. White rum by itself is pretty gross, though I've handled it pretty well. Raspberry vodka is cool too. Voted rum.

Captain Morgan isn't white rum, is it?  Captain Morgan is a spiced rum, white rum is like cachaca or the stuff you put in crazy fruity drinks.  And, yeah, white rum is disgusting and tastes like alcoholic melted cotton candy.

It's not, I should have specified I've tried two different brands. Forget what the white rum brand was. But yeah, it mostly tasted like metallic cough syrup.
