Did you guys  read the transcript of the alleged conversation that the Ukrainian SBU released purporting to implicate the rebels? In theory it shouldn't be that hard to verify. I doubt the SBU would have had access to the passenger manifest at the time this was released, so all you have to do is check and see if an Indonesian student from a university in Thompson (?) was aboard...

The Netherlands (or NATO collectively) won't unilaterally engage in military action; what targets would they even hit? They could invoke article IV of NATO (which Poland and I think Lithuania earlier invoked during the Russian invasion of Crimea), and most likely NATO/EU will demand a cessation of Russian support for the rebels (MRLS, tanks)  and the removal of all long range Russian surface to air missiles inside Eastern Ukraine, or face "increased sanctions." If the commander who ordered the launch can be identified, they can also issue an indictment.

In all honesty, a Russian invasion and occupation of Luhansk and Donetsk around when the insurgency began would have likely resulted in this event not happening and less casualties overall, since Ukrainian forces would be more apprehensive in engaging Russia militarily and Russian troops, assuming they're more competent than Donbass (or dare I say, dumbass) insurgents, would presumably be in control of long range air defense systems.
