I actually find putting a flag on shoes , sandals , and paper plates to be extremely disrespectful to the flag .

So my poolwear for today is no bueno?

Wrapping yourself in the flag is always a better strategy than distancing yourself from it. Make the argument that your values are more American than the deplorables. Maybe that's not edgy enough, but edgy doesn't seem to be working.

Of course these shoes would have been ugly and stupid looking, but whatever.

Protests on the left today are just about being edgy and getting it off your chest, though, they don't care about changing anyone's mind.

I defended the anthem protests when Trump used his office to try and intimidate them but it's clear they have not been effective and have actually helped Trump and the right politically.

That's kind of my biggest issue with them honestly. Who would want to wear those? Maybe that's why Nike actually pulled them and simultaneously didn't want to piss off Kaepernick.
