If you have a license to carry a deadly weapon, you need to know the rules for that license. Guns are serious business. It's not like she was caught jaywalking. If NJ wants to keep out deadly weapons, as best as they can with today's gun lusty population, it's not unreasonable for violators to face stiff penalties. She'll defianately not serve years, unlike thousands of people who have been caught crossing state lines with small bits of harmless plant matter.
