I admit, this is mainly in response to his ... strange decision to (despite still apparently wanting to run for reelection) go full on kamikaze, crapping publically all over PS loyalists, Valls, the French football team, intellectuals, immigrants, the Greens ("cynical pain in the butt"), Sarkozy ( "crude mini-De Gaulle" and a "Duracell rabbit"), the left-wing ("crowd of idiots"), his ex-partner, the judiciary, Ayrault and bragging about assassinating enemies of state (which is supposed to be, err, a state secret).

I feel kind of sorry for him. We have several European governments being far more destructive and implementing far worse policies that don't get nearly as much hate as Hollande does for his ineffectiveness.

A lot of what he has done in Africa; in Mali and CAR has actually been, you know, rather good. Mali in particular is an example of a "Western Intervention" that the rest of the world could stand to learn from.

Other than that... Is there anyone in French politics who isn't totally awful? Christiane Taubira maybe?
