I don't support this because there is a psychological and emotional issue at work. In other words, it's not cosmetic.

If cost is an issue, I'd say make up for it by cutting interventionist proposals (in foreign policy).
To be honest,
I don't think the intent of this bill is a cost issue.
I mean, how many people change their gender identity every year?
Maybe I'm wrong, but I think the intent of this bill is, how to say, really libertarian: "you can do whatever you want, but you pay for it though".

Motion to table this outrageous, transphobic bill.

I think I've received some good counterarguments to this, like the one mentioned here by President DemPGH, but I still would like it to become a case for how much our government can afford this kind of personal affairs. For more information on the costs, check this quote:

Bolded is the most specific part that we were all wondering about, but the whole thing is interesting and something to consider when this goes for a vote.

Or ask our current GM Napoleon.

Personally, I don't consider supporting this a priority. It was only supposed to be a small idea to relief the budget and lighten up our health care system. It's now up to you, Senators.

Motion to table this outrageous, transphobic bill.

Not without a serious enough debate, Senator.

Transphobia should not be debated, it should be smashed.

In case anyone is worried, since no independent bills were repealed, this mandate would still be in effect for the new ANHC.

I'm not sure what Atlasia's policy is, but in the US, prisoners are entitled to sex changes on the public dime.  Either this bill needs to be made consistent and prohibit that option as well as the mandate for the new ANHC, or it needs to be defeated.

Seeing as how sex change therapy is a legitimate medical decision, I hope that the Senate will soundly defeat this proposal.

I congratulate JoMCaR on trying to find places to reduce the spending (and I certainly do not appreciate the President's willingness to cut spending for foreign programs), and I don't believe it's fair to call it transphobia as this has the legitimate argument of the apparent lack of infrastructure to go through with it, but cutting away the funds for those people is not a workable solution because of the many complicated issues that involve sexual identity. Thus, I don't believe I can support it.

As I said before I can't see myself supporting this bill, simply because this surgery is so vital and 150 million is peanuts compared to our total budget.

Why do you think trans people should pay through the nose for necessary medical treatment? I'm surprised, Sen. Goldwater, especially with your social score and alleged libertarian views.

Because I consider it an elective surgery and think that people should pay for their own elective surgeries. I realize that both of those views are outside of the mainstream here and honestly I don't really care much about this issues, but there you go.

This has enough votes to pass.
Senators, you have 24 hours to change your vote.
