Feel the love.

Anticipation of the imminenent congressional elections drew me back to this forum, although the discussion seems somewhat... anemic, at the moment. Perhaps I can contribute to it's improvement.

AMA regarding religion and philosophy, that was the point of this thread, so can we move on to that?

Reposting this just to save everyone the trouble...

Rockingham is a troll, err, "parody."  Here's another post of his on this thread from 2012.

If you haven't put him on ignore yet, I suggest you do so.

Seems to be the same as last time. Check the gay marriage thread that just started in U.S. General.

Not a question. A question normally has this thing known as a question mark at the end, donchaknow. Example:

"What are the core principles upon which you base your religious faith?"

Close. All you needed to do was place the "is" at the start, and a question mark at the end. Keep trying.

Why would I ask someone without any core principles what his core principles are? That would just be stupid now.

A QUESTION! I've never been so happy to see a question! SmileySmileySmileySmileySmileySmiley

Two things:
1)I do have core principles
2)Even if I didn't, it can still be intellectually stimulating to debate with someone who doesn't sincerely hold the positions he claims to hold. This is after all the premise of formal off-line debate.

But how can I debate with someone who has had a variety of different guises? On what basis can I assume you are being either truthful or serious? Given that you think I don't have a right to be myself (at least so you claim) then why should I devote you any of my time?

Different guises? I was leftist when I first joined the forum, but over the course of years saw my  way towards conservatism. Why assume my shift was fake?
(This is actually a decent opening for you to ask a question regarding my religious faith, since my conversion to Christianity played a critical part in my rightwards journey.)

You need not devote any time to me, but you are.

Why shouldn't everyone assume your shift in ideology was fake, given that you have previously admitted to being a troll?

What came first? Your theology or ideology?

As a self-described far-righter, do you strive to become more conservative by finding others more conservative than you and then try to become more conservative that then? i.e. is there a Moore's Law of conservatism?
