My list...

1961, 1976, 1987, 1992 and 2004, and 2011 or 2014 (so far).

Before 1960 they start to run together in my head.

Your thoughts?

1980-1990: 1991, 1996 (year of birth)
2000-2010: 2003, 2005, 2007
2010-now: 2013

Maybe I should stop using sports as a metric to gauge my opinion of things.

I think 1945 is pretty unequivocally the best year of that decade. The '50s all seem to run together in my mind, so it's very hard to pick (though I know which years I wouldn't). As for the latter decades, I'll pick two for each decade (bold for the best):

1960s: 1965, 1968
1970s: 1976, 1977
1980s: 1987, 1989
1990s: 1992, 1997
2000s: 2004, 2009

As for the current decade, it's probably 2012 by default.
