You probably wouldn't be here if Dinkins was re-elected.

I'm fairly certain Columbia Law School would still exist if Dinkins were re-elected.

In 1988, US News ranked Columbia 18th. Today, it's 4th. This didn't happen in a vacuum, efforts of Sovern, Rupp, et al aside. NYU went from 43 to 30 (again, giving Sexton his due). In contrast, UMich went from 8th to 25th. Ok, CLS was ranked fifth back then, but even if you went to CLS... I probably would have gone to UChicago rather than where I am today. The fortunes of universities are linked with the fortunes of where they are.

Giuliani.  I could see voting for Marlin on principle as a prolifer, but it would seem like a vote to keep lawlessness in NYC by retaining Dinkins.

Nice to see you "crossing the aisle," we'll turn you into a moderate New England Republican before it's all said and done. Wink

He used to formally be one, and indeed voted for Jesse Helms' re-election in '96 back when he lived in NC. I think he changed his registration to Democratic in order to vote for Hill-dawg back in '08.
