Tough one.  The only one I ruled out off the bat was Nevada.

If the poll is about opinions, I'll be happy to move it to Individual Politics. If this is for debate, hopefully supported by data, then I'm happy to see it here. The OP doesn't make it clear.

I voted for Illinois, just because Chicagoland dominates the state population so much and rural areas are generally more conservative.  But I can see the case for Colorado (lacks the white Catholic-ethnic social conservatism and racial backlash further east, has Boulder etc.) and Minnesota (less "eastern" in that respect too and the Twin Cities are known for being quite progressive) as well.

It's the latter, like the other "which state is more liberal/conservative threads" on this board.

Colorado. Even El Paso County was 50/50 on legalizing marijuana.

I would say Colorado is probably the most socially liberal of this group. However, in terms of the most overall liberal/left-wing/Democratic state, the answer would have to be Illinois or possibly Minnesota,

I'm surprised that so few people have called the only state with legal prostitution

According to this poll, Colorado and Nevada are more pro-choice than any Midwestern state.  Not that abortion is the only social issue, of course.

Lakes aren't oceans.  That's why Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, and Turkmenistan count as landlocked countries.

I'm beginning to regret my vote for Illinois.

Colorado for sure, although Illinois and Minnesota are both socially liberal and are both probably more liberal OVERALL than Colorado.

I know it's not a long coastline, but NH does have one.

And the worst part is that I live five minutes away from it.
