Interesting. I thought Jolly would be one of the bad guys in the Republican caucus.

Pinellas County has always been home to sensible Republicans. I didn't expect Jolly to do something like this but I'm very happy he did.

It looks like he is setting himself up as another Bill Young, being able to keep his seat for life.

Well I'll be damned. I mean there's still that neoconservatism thing, but mad props to Jolly over this, and not a blatant political ploy to avoid the primary like Collins and Dent's "evolutions".

And I announce my support for him if he seeks higher office in the future.

Huh? All three of these people announced their support about 2 months after the filing deadline in their respective states, after it was confirmed that all three would be unopposed in the primary.

It's his hair; it's full of secrets. And PAC money.

And after the primary as well. Correct me if I'm wrong but there are write-ins in PA, aren't there?

Announcing support for gay marriage isn't going to get you a write in challenger (at least one that has a chance in hell of winning) in a place like Maine, PA-15, or FL-13. Jolly is essentially running unopposed in November, so if anything he has less to lose than Collins/Dent did (muh traditional marriage supporters staying home/voting Democrat out of spite, for instance). Of course, it goes without saying that none of these three are profiles in courage.

Supporting marriage equality does not make you a RINO.

Not really news, but eh. More power to Jolly. If I'm going to be represented by a Republican I'm happy it's one of the less objectionable ones.

Yay for Jolly!!!!! Cheesy He's my uncle's congressman (my uncle actually donated to his campaign) and I'm happy to hear he's supporting marriage equality. Would strongly support him if he is to seek higher office, perhaps senate in 2018 (Nelson is probably going to retire) or governor if Crist wins this year.
