I'm going to research the railroads situation more in depth. I've come across the fact that several European and Scandinavian countries supposedly privatized their railroads starting in the late '80s, and of course they're heavily socialized, so I need to read up on that. One way to do it is to pass regulations for care, maintenance, and so forth. We would obviously need to do that, and a compromise position might be to maintain government inspections and avenues for addressing problems. There would be a little bit of cost there, but nothing anywhere near 30 billion.

I could live with such a compromise. It is guaranteed that way that customers don't have a lower standard of service, and still Devin gets his privatisation.

Okay, let's start making adjustments, like the revenue numbers. I have the new tax rates included and also the areas where we thought we could cut (savings = 58.9 billion). When the economy improves, I think we can lighten taxes on the 20K-30K a year group and maybe increase a little to offset on the upper brackets.

Sorry for nitpicking, but the property tax is displayed two times in the bill
Did you count it two times as well?

Else, I'd be ok with everything.

Oh, that's just a mistake. Instead of reposting that thing every time, I'll just make edits to that post.

Funny enough I was considering the same thing with railroads. Ill submit the bill later today.

So, I'll be giving the budget for cost estimation to Simfan. In the afternoon.

Argh, I made a mistake. See that above? it's 35 + 49.3 = 84.3.

In other words, those are not three separate items. We were treating them as three separate items. Duh! I just realized that because I couldn't make the new numbers work. So we'll just have to readjust that, which I'll do tomorrow.

We'll cut 84.3 to 50, maybe, then. Might be a minor inconvenience for the GM. Tongue

Oh, well, that's good for us, though, because we can come nearer to a balanced budget now Smiley

Okay, infrastructure becomes 50 billion, which lowers the total expenditures to 414 billion. That checks.

With the railroad thing, then, we're well under 400 billion.

With a strong economy it'd be nice at some point to cut taxes for the 20K-40K crowd and perhaps raise a little on the upper highest bracket.

Okay, I tidied it up so it's a little more obvious what's going on with the numbers. It checks now, coming in at 414.2 billion. So we'll just adjust the revenues now and we should be okay with it.

If we privatize the railroads and pass Devin's bill with some amendments we could probably cut that 30 billion now.

Great.

Yeah, I read myself into that stuff as well, and now I'm not as unfavourable to it as before. I plan to amend Devin's bill, in a way that we would save, and the customers would win (at least I think it will be that way).

So guys, since Simfan "is busy at the moment" I did a little calculations myself, and tried to figure out some revenue numbers where I could. These are what I got, I put it into a Google Doc so you can control my work (and add something where I didn't find anything)
That's it.

I'll again try to find some info for our budget, as Simfan chooses to ignore our request.

I finished the remaining numbers, the Budget is now complete!

Thanks to the Infrastructure privatization, we managed to get a surplus. As mentioned before, those numbers are not GM estimates, but I had to calculate them myself, so there can be errors. Anyway, we can now proceed to a final vote.
