But yeah, I get a pay check. Not as big of one as I would wish though. Sad

He should have paid you to learn the spelling of "Leip".

Most every company mandates direct deposit. The fact that a big company like Bushie's does not scares me.

Until last fall, I was getting paper checks.  But then my company transferred me out of town for seven weeks, so it no longer made sense.

I talked to my company's accountant.  At that time, there were only 2 of us employees (out of a company of 170) still receiving paper checks.

I'm still not sure I like direct deposit.  I have my checking account at a bank, but most of my money is at credit unions.  It used to be that I would look at my checkbook every time I got a new paycheck, and I would then decide which institution to deposit it in.  Now, I don't get the constant reminder, so I actually have to pay attention to my (ridiculously-low-interest-bearing) bank balance, in order to know when to transfer funds to better-paying accounts.

You can't make them depose it at the credit union?

In Quebec, every company can do that (sure, the main credit union is bigger than the banks, which helps).

I get a paper check twice a month. I'm working at a law firm, but it's only a ten-week-long summer job. When I return full-time next year, insha'Allah, I will presumably get paid direct deposit though.

It's basically a prepaid debit card that your employer adds onto every pay period. My employer uses them for the few employees who refuse to get direct deposit, it discontinued checks about two years ago.

I get direct deposit and I work a job with very high turnover, so cost can't really be an issue.

In 1999, I had direct deposit at my job. A physical check is ridiculous. I got them one summer (2003) when I worked at a tiny Italian restaurant where the old lady owner worked in the kitchen and her husband worked front of house, but even then it was a little ridiculous.

There should be a "cash" option. How are the Atlas forum drug dealers and bootleggers supposed to vote in this poll?

Anyway I've been paid through direct deposit for a while now but I was paid by way of paper checks for years beforehand.

I get checks every two weeks, because I'm not working this job long enough for anything else to be reasonable. I wish they would just pay cash, though. It would be great to get an envelope every two weeks filled with twenty hundred-dollar bills.

Paycheck every week.

Maybe because it's 2:30 AM where I am, but the people following "direct deposit" with "(normal)" seem to be the victims of one of two afflictions. Either A) they are incredibly bigoted miscreants who have no place in this proud Republic, which is very plausible as Walter is one of them, or B) they think they are funny, which they are not. There is option C) wherein they're aware it's not funny and still do it, but let's not get crazy here.

Hard to believe the third option even exists.
