Well?

I never have despite the amount of time I've spent thinking about politics. Anytime I consider it, I tend to jump to the conclusion that my donation money would be better spent giving to the Church or to charities than politicians, but maybe someday I'll be persuaded otherwise or give despite that. I also suspect that whoever I'd give the money to would only be using my support by giving lip service to issues I actually care about and not actually do a thing to make the world better in any tangible way.

How about you guys?

My family one time hosted a fundraiser for a candidate for statewide official, so I guess so.

Yearly NDP membership fee + convention participation fee in 2013 (wierdly, it's considered as a donation and it's tax-deductible).

Yes, through my mother's credit card, to Ron Paul two years ago.

I thought I would give the Campus Conservatives a chance and see if they could overcome the negative first impression I got from them. They could not.

Unfortunately joining the club meant giving money to Ontario's Progressive Conservative Party. I regret it.

No, and I don't really plan to, except maybe some national libertarians (people like Gary Johnson and Ron Paul)

Unfortunately, I paid membership fees to the federal Liberals in 2008 or something (barf) but never renewed it. I have absolutely no plans to ever give money to any politician in the future, unless Aubrey Plaza or J-Law become politicians. I've become so cynical about this whole politics thing that the idea of giving money to these horrible people disgusts me.

I still have a membership in the Conservative Party (5yr membership bought 3 years ago), but feel the same way as TJ.

Being involved in politics lets you see the lip service he alluded to up close and personal. I don't really see the point in being involved in mainstream politics anymore as I get older. The combination of immoral politicos, my views being pushed aside in favour of free market ideology, and the demands of family make it quite unpalatable.

I've donated a combined total of $150 so far to Ed FitzGerald's and Nina Turner's campaigns for Ohio Governor and Ohio Secretary of State, respectively. It does seem like a lot, but Ohio Dems rely heavily on these average donations from Ohioans and I just really want to see these 2 win this year for a variety of personal and political reasons.

I also donated $20.16 to the ReadyforHillary SuperPAC as well since I'd really like to see Hillary run and I did get some free bumper stickers from the PAC, so not a bad trade. I'm undecided if I'll donate anything to any of the Senate candidates this year or not, but I'll almost certainly donate to Portman's general election opponent in 2016 granted I can happily get behind the Democratic nominee.

I've donated to a handful of candidates over the years, but it's been quite a while at this point.

I remember donating to 3 or 4 candidates in 1998.  One of them must have forwarded my information on, because I started getting fundraising letters from EMILY's List.

If any organization could convince me to vote Republican, it would probably be EMILY's List.

No. Just time.

My parents donate to Maggie Hassan, though, as we've been doing since she started. They give to the Democratic Party (as they have been - my mom is now your standard Internet leftist after the Bush years, and my dad's an ex-union worker).
