It's a very weird album (clearly due in no small part to some potent acid), but I do like it. I've always particularly liked Astronomy Domine.

Interesting fact: None of the members of Pink Floyd were regular drug users except for Syd Barrett (who was the main creative influence on Piper, so you are right on that fact). He got so messed up on it that the rest of the group swore off the stuff.
