The thought of someone getting an advanced degree for a short paper that was entirely plagiarized  still boggles my mind.

Yeah, I think that's the real crime here. How could a professor let that go?

Isn't there a committee that checks that thesis? And didn't they already have plagiarism software? How did all of that happen to fail?

Who knows? Everything about the situation is absurd to me - I'd love to get an advanced degree for a 10 page paper or whatever he "wrote." Who can't write a 10 page paper? It's so embarrassing!

It's not like this was in the 90s or early 2000s, either. It happened in 2007.

Granted, it is the Army War College, and maybe they think Veterans wouldn't cheat, but still...

^ It reminds me of when some Democrats tried to draft John Mellencamp when Bayh retired.

So, uh, apparently the Montana Democratic Party is having a convention to chose who they are going to nominate for the seat.

Does anyone having any ideas who that could be?

I find it interesting that the plagiarism story broke right as Walsh was doing better in a few polls. I bet someone was sitting on the story and waiting for the opportune time to release it. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Yup. Shame on the DSCC for not having known about this before the appointment. Hell Bullock should have known about this when he chose him as his running mate!

According to the Helena Independent Record, it's looking like State Rep. Amanda Curtis. http://helenair.com/news/local/government-and-politics/an-improbable-journey-butte-s-curtis-may-be-the-front/article_0647ded0-2444-11e4-a4c6-0019bb2963f4.html (link courtesy of DKE, want to give credit for where I found the link given the race we're discussing here lol)

Who cares about plagiarism?

Montana isn't Germany.

But it is the same size. A coincidence?

The state GOP is a joke if they think that video won't make voters more sympathetic to Curtis. Average Americans aren't willfully and enthusiastically dystopian.

Don't worry; Curtis is going to win overwhelmingly. She has all the momentum and voters will soon realise how superior she is to the evil Steve disDaines.
