He'd be pretty busy with his continued escalation of Iraq and Afghanistan, his invasion of Iran/Syria and his on-going search for bin Laden.

This was a year ago, he probably has upped his tone on Russia and Ukraine by now.

He would've probably launched a ground operation in Iran and Palestine, threatened Russia with intervention and probably botched a press conference regarding Ukraine, either failing to identify what's at stake for them, or why the conflict was even going on.

He'd be too busy fighting wars in Syria, Iran, Afghanistan, and some other countries to do much else.

The Iraq War would be over, but there would be significant remaining troops in the area. Withdrawal in Afghanistan would not have been telegraphed to the world, so the Taliban would not as strongly be waiting in the wings. Rebels would have been armed in both Libya and Syria. Assad would probably be on his way out. There would have been tougher and more immediate sanctions on Russia.

What is McCain going to magically get the EU to back tougher sanctions?

The rhetoric would have been different, but the events and the results would not have been.

The World knows that the American public, right and left, is tired of wars.  Most insiders know that the kind of intervention blathered about by some is not in America's interest.

Although Mac is well-known as a war hawk, I honestly don't see him getting involved too much more in the Middle East - maybe a more aggressive stance with no fly zones and stuff but being in the Oval Office, likely surrounded by advisers who know what they're talking about, would temper his push for boots on the ground.  Mac knew that we needed more troops to finish the job in Iraq from Day 1, and in order to get the troops necessary for full-scale invasions of Syria and Libya, you'd probably have to bring back the draft.   And he may be incredibly hawkish but that doesn't mean downright stupid - he would know that intervention in North Korea, China, Russia and/or Ukraine could result in nuclear war.  If Mac actually intended to invade these countries, I'd expect him to do things a lot more carefully thsn the Bush Administration, which spent only 2 months prior to the invasion planning the reconstruction of postwar Iraq
