Greetings, infidels of Atlasia. I'm WrathOfTheGods, and I'm new here.

This will be the my personal political platform here:

Economy:
-Create gold and silver currencies that could compete with paper money.
-Support progressive taxation.
-Outlaw deficit spending.
-Eliminate the minimum wage.
-End homelessness through government-led housing programs.
-Ease access to health care and food for low-and-middle-income families.
-Education reform: Standardized, diversified, faith-based spiritual education. Universal access. No private school vouchers. Require spiritual training for teachers. Allow teachers to adopt orphan pupils.
-Support environmental protection.

Social Issues:
-Abortion: Allow only some therapeutic ones. Ban the rest. Consider fetus' rights.
-Marriage: Allow marriage for anyone 14 or older. No gay marriage, only union with no adoption rights (unless one of them is a teacher). Allow polygamy for men and women who are spiritually trained. Allow incest.
-Law and order: No private prisons. Preferably no death penalty. Support gun rights with background checks.
-Continue the War on Drugs. Allow marijuana only for medical and ceremonial purposes.

Religion:
-Build an organized net of altars, sanctuaries and temples for the gods with public funds.
-Create national parks for sacred and secret creatures.
-Build a 100 meters tall statue of Dave right behind the Capitol Building in Nyman.

Foreign Policy:
-Support our military as the instrument of the gods' will throughout the world.
-Annex Cuba, Djibouti, Dominican Republic, Ghana, Haiti, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Israel, Jordan, Liberia, Macao, Nigeria, Palestine, Somalia and Venezuela to Atlasia, putting priority to those with internal trouble. Support turning them into states after being annexed.
-Oppose draft registration.
-Support diplomacy as our first tool to solve international problems.
-Declare war on countries which pose a direct threat to our country.
-Use military force to protect allied governments and to prevent or stop genocides.

I wish we can all work together for this country. If we do, the gods will be pleased.

Any questions? Come visit my sanctuary!

Fellow Atlasians, I'm seeking to have this bill introduced in the Senate. Here you have a copy of it.

This is the first part of a bigger foreign policy plan I seek to put forward, I'd have loved to add more, but on second thoughts, I believe this will be OK for now.

May the gods be with you.

I'm pleased to inform you that thanks to former Secretary Superique Israel and Palestine have closed a peace deal, which means that the OTL invasion of Gaza isn't happening right now. In regards to Venezuela, well...

If reelected... I look forward to voting against this in the Senate.

Hamas blatantly violated the deal with their attacks so the invasion of Gaza is on unless we all come back to the table. Also I'd like the GM to reflect that Israel has a conservative government led by Benjamin Netanyahu and not Labor led by Herzog .

@Polnut I'd have to vote against this proposal as well.

Actually, the GM stated that there is no invasion of Gaza, which means the peace deal is on and the Israeli government Superique presented us is the official government.

A rare set of views, but if there is one thing this place needs is debate amongst contrary opinions.

We are trying to reduce its relative position in favor of more effective solutions but progress is slow because of funding concerns and also the complexities of the formulas in the minimum income policy that serves as the likely replacement.

-End homelessness through government-led housing programs.

The IDS took the lead early courtesy of his Supreme Unbeliably Awesomeness Emperor Scott and his homeless policy based of the Utah approach, that he passed back a few months ago. The Federal Gov't has since passed grants to the regions and finally the NE, which had been the leader in such policies, has come around to beefing up there bill from last year that was rather limited. I would recommend pushing the Midwest gov't to pursue similar if they are not already doing so.

-Ease access to health care and food for low-and-middle-income families.

Healthcare has been a mess for some time in Atlasia, we passed a reform back in June that moved towards a marketing competing public option. We still have a national Healthcare system called ANHC, or alternatively Fritzcare after its originator, and it will remain the default provider, especailly if regions don't actively allow competitors onto their exchanges (ANHC is a mandatory participant in each exchange). There are other issues that Regions should move to resolve, as they have a good bit of flexibility to determine the presence of a market or more of a singularly utility model. In the federal law there is a sliding scale subsidy based on income to ensure that the poor are covered, limits on co-pays and deductibles to just 5% of income, and various programs in ANHC to handle various subgroups like those with pre-existing conditions, seniors, vets etc. I can give you more details, but it will make this post unreadable and we prefer not to overwhelm people so as to scare them away (though we often end up doing that anyway by accident), so I will hold off unless requested otherwise for now. People of Atlasia, creatures of the Gods all around this world, I happily announce that I'll be seeking to fill the Senate seat that Shua left behind. I'll run on my platform. Any questions on other issues will be received and answered.

I'm pleased to see that the Merger proposal failed. I didn't hold a position on it at first and voted "Abstain", and I regret that. There's so much that can be done with the Midwest to please the gods. Anyone wants to feast? There will be pork for dinner Wink
