Gotta love this Patriot Majority PAC ad.

It sounds just like an AFP one.

The good people of Louisiana will clearly deliver a good thrashing to that socialist Bill Cassidy and his Cassidycare.

This ad is just not that different from one by AFP or Crossroads in style or substance.  It seems like Dems are utilizing the Guess the Party strategy in 2014 now.

As I said in my thread, definitely a good strategical move for Landrieu. Making Cassidy less acceptable to far-right Republicans means they're more likely to support Maness in the primary. With Hollis dropping out, this may also help blunt any momentum that his endorsement gave Cassidy.

Before the primary in NC, Hagan did something similar by trying to link Tillis to Obamacare.

I suppose that this ad could be of benefit to Landrieu if Maness actually manages to beat Cassidy for a spot in the likely runoff, but that's going to take a whole lot.

Exactly. It makes conservative voters think Cassidy = Obama and they'll either vote for Maness or for Landrieu, which would also make her chances higher, and if there's a runoff, some conservatives will stay home because both are "the same".

The voters that would like this ad would never vote for Cassidy, so it's a positive for Landrieu.

Yep. If you're voting because you support the ACA, or any ACA-like laws, you're already supporting Landrieu.

Sorry, this ad is just too icky for me. Democrats should be required to run explicitly pro-Obamacare campaigns and attack Republicans for being against it.

This isn't a Democratic candidate's ad though.

But it can't be a liberal PAC. It's called PATRIOT Majority USA. Everyone knows liberals can't be patriots. They're the ones who want to ban The Bible and burn our flag.

This is also their logo:

It's pretty obvious they're trying to pretend to be a Tea Party group.

Why would someone who thinks that Cassidy is too far left ever vote for Landrieu? Isn't the point of the ad to take potential Cassidy voters away from him and direct them toward Maness?

Republicans who get indignant when Democrats pull this sort of thing (including Claire McCaskill's ads pumping up Todd Akin in the 2012 GOP primary) should stop complaining about "corrupt Chicago-style politics" and start asking, "Are our primary voters really this stupid?"
