Here's an example of a typical American Stella Artois ad: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wo2IPSItor0

I also remember seeing an ad for it before a movie at an independent arthouse theater just after moving to Minneapolis. Alcohol ads are basically unheard of before movies at mainstream theaters in the US so that itself stood out, but it's clear what type of market they go for at a theater like that.

So of course I had to try it....and then discovered that it's actually really not that good.

Being a beer snob must be an awfully exhausting hobby. Just give me something to drink.

It's a hobo in a new suit.

That is to say, it's tolerably drinkable.

Drink hobos responsibly.

This. This borderline FB. Lot's of superior alternatives, though.

I'm hardly a beer snob, in fact I'm not much of a beer drinker in general, I go more for hard liquor, especially rum.

But I won't ever say "just give me something to drink." I'd rather drink plain tap water than the piss beer mass produced and marketed so widely by major brands.

overrated but ok.  ie not worth paying the premium.  come to think of it the only non-bargain basement beer I buy nowadays is Sierra Nevada.

I like it. I mean I'll definitely go better if I'm looking for fancy sh*t but it's not awful.

All of you ignorant swine need to drink a pint of the nectar that is mild ale.

None of you ignorant swine know what mild is. A pox on you all.

I don't care for it.  It's not as bad as belashi or heineken or budweiser, but not worth spending money on.  I had it once, and luckily I wasn't paying or it.  Not that I drink beer very often, but when I do, I definitely want a heavy, calorie-laden, thick, hoppy beer.  One of the more interesting aspects of of life in horse-n-buggy country is the variety of local brews.  Oats and barley and rye, 11% or more too.  Whoda thunk it?  There are actually about a gazillion decent brew pubs in Laenkistah.  Luckily some of them aren't too terribly far from my crib.  Among the bottled beers available in markets, there are a few that I like.  Stella isn't one of them.

To each his own.

Ok, voted Freedom Beer from it being one of the first beers I liked. Haven't drunk one in years though, as I have moved on to much higher quality beer.

On another note, Stella Artois is known as wife-beater in the UK.

Ha.  Interesting.  In the US that term refers to a style of shirt.
