Day 22 is over prematurely due to a power outage in the building I work in.  I'll still get paid as it wasn't my doing, but they dismissed everybody for the rest of the day.  Since we work on the computers, a power outage shuts us down.  They weren't sure when it would come back on, but do expect it to be on by morning.

I am three days into my new lifestyle and I am already seeing results.  I am down to 283.0 as of this morning which is a full 10 pounds from mid-July and 0.6 pounds from the start of this challenge.

Curious:- how many other people work alongside you, doing approximately the same job?  And roughly how many employees does this place have in total?

In my office there are 8 people - 6 drafters and 2 business partners including my boss and the owner.

So, wait, who are the engineers you were laughing at that were correcting your work? Telecommuting workers? Were they clients?

We even started laughing at some of the corrections that the engineers sent back.  I did nothing wrong, rather the corrections came down after I had made the revisions and sent them in with the information I had at the time.  Anyway, there is nothing wrong going on.  I'm just fine.

We work in cooperation with other drafting companies and we check each other's work.  Our clients are the engineers and they have a certain protocol they want met in the products they receive.  They pay my company good money to draft and detail a complete and error-free product.  The other drafting companies have the same thing and we check each other's work to get different sets of eyes to look at the drawings and find any errors.

So, then it wasn't engineers (aka the clients) who sent back corrections? (I hope not.)

They sometimes send back last minute corrections.  We send the drawings to them error-free, but sometimes they think of something at the last minute they want to add or change.  It does not reflect poorly on us, but we've got to do them per the contract.  Once in a while we may negotiate with them, but we usually end up fulfilling their requests or at least some form of their request.

It can be quite frustrating at times, because we need to move on, but we roll with it.

2 days left in Week 5 of work.  I can easily say this is the best job I've had since the winter of 2007/2008 when I worked with my Dad at Northrop Grumman.  I should have stuck with that job, but was so anxious to get out of Oklahoma which gave birth to the failed Dallas experiment.  There are many things I need to do to improve at this position, but I feel good about where I'm at officially entering Month 2 tomorrow.

Wait, you could have been on year 7 with Northrop Grumman and you passed on your chance?Huh   UGH!

Generally, if you're working at a global Fortune 500 company and want to see the world, the best thing to do is to sever ties with them and sell vacuums in Dallas.

I love when we see flashbacks! I had no idea Bushie was working with his dad at one point! How silly he was to give that one up.

I didn't post that to be criticized for something that happened 6 1/2 years ago.  There should be a statute of limitations on criticism...  Yes, I have paid the price for 6 1/2 years for that mistake.  Isn't that criticism enough?

Yeah, we definitely would've ripped you a good one if you dropped that while unemployed, or worse, while unemployed and mooching off Papa at home.

Good call withholding that info until now.

He keeps trying, but so far to no avail.  He's waiting for a change in leadership.  The way I up and quit them left them with a bad taste in their mouth.  Now that I have a good job, there's no need in trying.

You up and quit there too without working a 2 week notice? Sounds like a pattern.

Believe me, it started 6 1/2 years in the employment wilderness trying call centers.  I'm changing that with the job I have now.
