Nay. I realize that inactivity is totes bad, but Torie should be back soon and that will clear things up (if he's not though I'll have to reconsider my vote).

I completed taking the NY Bar Exam last Wednesday, and will now be active again on Atlas (I needed a couple of days to decompress thereafter and then pay a bunch of bills, and so forth). I apologize for the absence, but the exam prep was a bear, and I felt I needed at the end to simply shut everything else down. I understand however, if some feel that my absence makes me unfit for the job, and will bear no ill will to anyone over this matter, and hope and trust Senators will vote their conscience. Thank you.

Justice Torie, have you read my first post on the previous page? If so, what is you opinion on the possibility of moving some portion of deliberations occuring before the posting of ruling/concurrences/dissents, into the public view in the case thread?

Senator North Carolina Yankee, I don't think it appropriate to post the back and forth on the Snowstalker case between the Justices, but I did review Oakdale's draft opinion on 6-2-14, and on that date made a comment as to one of the issues, with a link, which issue I see was incorporated into the final opinion. After that, other than one appearance to vote on the granting or not of cert in a matter, I was then absent for the reason stated. I do apologize for not taking an official leave of absence through the official channels, rather than the unofficial ones. Thank you.

My problem here is not that Torie had to do the bar or that he was away for 2 months, it's that he didn't bother to put up a leave of absence.

Few would vote to boot Torie, it was hard for me to cast the vote like I did as it was. Him reappearing just in time was the ticket out and he is lucky he is so well respected.

Keep in mind the vote alone serves an incentive but going forward the default option has to be to vote Aye unless proven innocent for it to work effectively.
