This is the thread to rage against things that don't matter.  I'll start....



So Bad Religion, Pennywise and the Offspring are going on tour together.  3 of my favorite (say, top 30) bands.  I'm not a huge fan of the Offspring, but they are playing Smash in it's entirety, which is cool as it's by far my favorite of their mainstream albums.  And they (minus Pennywise) are going to play in Council Tucky at one of the casinos.  This excited me.  Thought it would be a cool first show for the boy (12), went to look for tickets......$60! (and through ticketmaster no less so they would probably end up at like, $200 or some sh**t)  Eff that noise.  The only way I'm paying that much to see live music would be if Kieth Moon or John Bonham rose from the dead and went back on tour with their respective bands.

Commercials where the user of the sponsor's product is either a moron or an asshole.  The Infiniti one where the guy is too busy thinking about stupid sh**t to drive, but he's driving an Infiniti with YouDontHaveToPayAttentionControl so it's ok!  Or the Firestone one where the 2 minivans are going for the same parking spot, one guy is driving safely and is much closer and on the correct side of the road for the spot, but the guy driving the minivan with FIRESTONE tires is a complete ass, speeding in a residential neighborhood, making a crazy turn and cutting off another driver.

So my PC has a virus.  The virus occasionally (like 1 in 100) redirects my everyday browsing to various websites.  I've been fighting it for days and every time I think I've got rid of it, it's there again.  I hope I don't have to re-install windows.  I've taken to writing a polite letter to the businesses that I get redirected to as that's how the writers of the virus make money.  I doubt it will help, but it makes me feel better.

I have that virus. But it redirects me once every 10,000 websites and almost always when I use IRC. But it doesn't bother me too much.

Rant of the day, bigotry in online shooters.  I'm guessing most non-players either assume it's near constant or have no idea it exists at all.  In the past, it was near constant.  Kill a guy in a way he doesn't approve and you'll get anything from "n00b C4" to "FU@K YOU f****t n!".  Honestly, it's gotten a lot better over the last decade or so, especially in the more "adult" FPS games, but it's still there and I'm more annoyed by it now than ever.  There are many servers that autoban people for posting certain words in game.  You'll still get whingey bitches, but less bigotry and racism overall.  Early tonight there was a...discussion that lasted several games that I was partly involved in (generally I ignore the sh**t posted by the other team and only watch for team and squad chat stuff, but these games were ass kickings so I had plenty of time) involving several people that didn't understand why people were "butthurt" (their word) over people getting offended over their repeated use of the word "fag".  My goto phrase is "go back to CoD", CoD being the various Call of Duty games, which have a much younger average age and MUCH lower IQ.  It's depressing that so many people use the anonymity of the internet* to spew their bigotry and since it's almost exclusively young people doing this, (older gamers like myself take the game more seriously, but much less emotionally) it's even more depressing.
