It is quite concerning to me that there are still people in this day and age who wants to marry off their children for wealth, or in order to climb the social ladder. I don't know if any of you have read Pride and Prejudice, but as shown by the unsympathetic character of Mrs Bennet, that sort of thinking was becoming quite tacky already 200 years ago.
