Most people understand that high taxes can stifle investment and undermine growth. But do we give enough attention to the burdens that too much regulation can place on the economy?

Define "regulation". Everyone agrees that the other side makes too many rules. And you could also argue that if you don't make "too many rules", some elite folk will just fill the vacuum with their own rules. In such a situation, people complain that there is no choice, prices are being fixed or hell, that the company they work supports policies that are against their religion.

Regulations should be outlawed entirely.

Does that mean there should be no laws?

Depends on who you ask. For me politically? No. For me on a more worldy philosophical level, yes.

In principle, people should be left alone but the problem is, they never are left alone.

I guess the "free market" will stop companies from pumping carcinogens into the air, huh?

Duh, when you get cancer all you have to do is sue the company that pumped the original carcinogen that started your disease. It's all so simple you see :/

And then the judge - whose campaign was financed by said company - will either rule in their favor or send you to arbitration where the company-paid arbitrator will rule in their favor.

Not even that. They will just say that they lack jurisdiction or weren't actually damaged because your claims don't have value.
