I turned 18 in 2005, so:

2008
2006
2012
2010

With the first two, I was far more optimistic with the then-ascendant Democratic Party. The 2012 election was more a feeling of relief, while 2010 was one of utter devastation.

New ranking:
2008
2006
2012
2010
2014
2004
2002

And it goes without saying there's a massive gap between 2012 and 2010.

The 2000 presidential election was the one I really enjoyed the most.  It took nearly a month to decide who was the winner.  Retracted concessions, missed calls, and errata.  How exciting was that?  It was like a 0-0 game lasting until the 17th inning.  Either really good pitching or really bad batting.

Runners up:  2008 primaries.  Both parties, but especially the Democrats.  Also, the 1992 presidential election.  Basically any election in which I really, honestly don't know who will win is an interesting one, and therefore among my favorites.

Most of the rest have been foregone conclusions.  Hard to pick a least favorite, but this recent one may well have been the worst of the lot, owing to its predictability.  Wolf won by ten points.  No surprise there.  GOP gains seats in both houses of the PA lege and in both houses of the US congress.  No surprise there.  All my incumbents except Corbett won.  No surprises there.  Super predictable.  Super boring.  Not a particularly interesting election cycle this year.

2012-Was my favorite for some rather obvious reasons.  I had watched 2008, but couldn't vote at the time.  Seeing Democrats hold the Senate and Obama get reelected were great though.  I watched polls constantly, was always reading about the state of the race at the time.  First campaign I really got into.

2010-I really didn't pay attention to this one (I'll freely admit to not having been very engaged with politics at this point).  I remember knowing the Republicans whooped on the Democrats, but that was about it.

2014-This one was definitely a downer.  I'm not as upset about it as a lot of the other people on here are (at the end of the day I've got a lot of other stuff to do and think about than the results of an election I can't change), but it was a bit of a bummer.  I think the biggest reason I didn't like it was how much of a wave it was.  I had reached the conclusion the dems were going to lose the Senate for some time, and we weren't going to win all the Governor's seats I would have liked us to.  To see so much slip away like it did sucked.  Seeing how low turnout was also sucks, and for reasons other than it just helping add extra nails into our coffin.

I only have 2011 off year stuff, 2012 and 2014 (I was 2 months shy of age in 2010), 2011's off year is still the best.

1992: I like policy wonks, so I was enthused about Clinton, and seeing the electoral map
so dramatically change colors on election night, after three Pub blowouts in a row, was fun.

2008:  It was a historic election, and the Bush 43 years pained me, so it was exciting.

1988:  It was my first presidential election vote, and I didn't like Dukakis, so voted for Bush 41

2000:  It was close and interesting, and the first time I ever cast an absentee ballot (from Japan)

1996:  It ended up being pretty boring and a foregone conclusion.

2004:   Awful; didn't like Kerry and liked Bush less, but disappointing result anyway.

2012:  Was so disenchanted by this time that I didn't vote.

1. 2012 Presidential Election
2. 2013 Gubernatorial Election
3. 2014 Midterm Election (Not many races in New Jersey were that exciting for me this cycle save for a few local races)

Yes, I do consider this election to be considerably worse than 2010. At least then, we still had control of one House of Congress and were in better shape in state governments. I, like pretty much everyone else, was expecting a wave in 2010 and a virtual guaranteed loss of the House. This election, while the Senate was more than likely gone, I thought we still had a reasonable chance at keeping the majority. I was not at all expecting the extent and magnitude of this defeat.

2006: This was the first election where I was really engaged, and it's still the best
2008: Pretty awesome, but at the time I expected a good result after 2006

2012: A good election, although it was scary for a couple months

2014: It sucks, but 2010 was definitely worse

2010: This was easily the sourest election for me (and also the most impactful long-term)
