I usually hit neutral for this one. We already spend a lot on foreign aid. I don't think we need to increase spending as much as, perhaps, rethink how/where we send money.

Neutral, non critical. Foreign aid is, in theory, a wonderful idea. The problem is the actual practice. With greedy individuals looking to pocket the money for themselves, not much of the given money actual reaches those who need it. If there were a way around that barrier, I'd be 100% for it.

Disagree, we should cut all foreign aid going to poor countries and leave it to private charities (not critical issue).

Agree/Critical.

This is probably an area that a ridiculous chunk of what we spend on defense could be redirected towards.  Plus, it wouldn't even be difficult, as the military can and has conducted many a humanitarian effort in it's history.  Personally, I'd be a lot happier if my ship went out to the Third World these last two months rather than playing pretend war off the coast of Hawaii.  I know that the term "foreign aid" suggests a more direct type of monetary charity, but you need to have people on the ground for these types of things.

Either way, this is the type of role I'd like to see the U.S. play as the world's only superpower.
