No (D), even with hindsight. The surveillance state must be stopped.

Nay (D). At this point, I think he should be impeached and removed from office.

No (D).

He was a terrible pick from the beginning.

I don't support torture, indiscriminate drone bombing or spying, I'd filibuster his nominaton until I passed out on the Senate Floor and had to be carried off to an emergency room

The president should get to nominate more or less whoever he wants. I would vote yes.

The president should get to nominate more or less whoever he wants.

That's a valid point. However, the Senate has the full ability to either approve or reject said nominee. I'm generally in agreement with you when it comes to the Cabinet, but the Director of the CIA is not a member of the Cabinet. (To be honest, I would support allowing a majority of both Houses of Congress to remove any legislatively-created executive officer.)

I would vote against any nominee for CIA director (and were I in the Senate, I would filibuster any nominee for CIA director were that still an option) because I don't trust anyone with being the head of that organization, regardless of their personal qualities, qualifications, or credentials. The CIA is a relic of the Cold War, that, like the FBI and the NSA, should be abolished.
