So, TJ, do you believe all pot users used have mandatory rehab or just those who are clearly addicted to it? If this is the case, do you believe the same treatment should be meted out to alcohol and tobacco users?

Umm I'm pretty sure not all pot users have used mandatory rehab. I'm not sure if that's what you intended to ask there???

If this is the case, do you believe the same treatment should be meted out to alcohol and tobacco users?

No, because it isn't feasible to do so when those things are already legal. It sounds all nice in abstract theory land to have ideologically consistent laws but in reality we have to recognize the social implications of banning alcohol or tobacco would be completely untenable.

Sorry that was a typo, I meant if all pot users should use mandatory rehab regardless of whether they are actually addicted or not.

It seems to me in that case considering the enormous number of individuals who use marijuana, laws banning it are equally useless regardless of the merits of said law.

Jill Stein got my vote back in 2012 and that's still where it would go today.

Jill Stein almost got my vote. But 2 dealbreakers:

(1) She talked about taxes "paying" for single-payer/jobs guarantee (nope, not under a fiat currency) perpetuating the "going broke" narrative "both" parties regularly employ (Dems making "tough decisions" about "shared sacrifice" and Repubs shrieking about "going broke");
(2) she brought up Mitt Romney wayyy too much.

On the latter point, she would've been well served going the Nader route by demonstrating how "both" candidates were pawns of Wall Street, and - if anything - Wall Street entrusts the "lesser evil" Dems to execute their agenda while Repubs play the role of crazy bad cop.

I voted for President Obama and I would absolutely do the same today. As in 2012, it isn't with anywhere near the enthusiasm I had in 2008. I would never be able to stomach four years of Mitt Romney.

Obama then, undecided now

Honestly, I have gotten pretty disenchanted with Obama recently and I think that Romney would've been better to deal with the extremists in the GOP House.  Of course, I disagree with a lot of Romney's economic policies, but if he governed like he did in Massachusetts, he would be pretty good.  Of course, he could just rubber stamp all the tea party legislation (if there were a GOP Senate) and that would be a big problem.

So, I'm really not sure on this one.

Agreed. Romney x2. Obama's second term has been a disaster.

I voted for Gary Johnson and would do so today. Gary Johnson would have made a fine president.

I supported Obama (was too young to actually vote. DX), and he remains a better choice than Romney today, however if Rocky Anderson (Justice Party) actually had a chance of winning, I'd definitely consider supporting him instead.

Supported Johnson then, and still would. As much as I can't stand Obama, I fear Romney might have been even worse.

Romney/Romney.

Probably would support Romney even more enthusiastically today because I'm one of the hacks who thinks all his criticisms of Obama have been pretty strongly validated over the last two years.
