Sad that he has to resort to this, but he would never have a chance of winning otherwise.

Rand Paul's seemingly opportunistic approach to foreign aid is one of the things that make me a bit reluctant to support him for president.

If he's going to withdraw all our forces and commitments overseas, except for his support for Israel and financial gifts to them... then what is the point? Seriously?

Israel is a dealbreaker in GOP primaries.   Paul is just doing this so he can be tolerated by neocons.

Neocons aren't going support him just because of this, and his foreign policy seems ridiculous now.

It's not really about the neocons. There are plenty of Republicans who are generally not especially hawkish but are stridently pro-Israel.

This. There are many doves or constitutional hawks that gave aid to Israel. Only 4 votes (Sanford, Massie, Jones, and Amash) said no. That's 4 out of the 30+ liberty leaning members.

The other 26 are probably rapturists.

Isn't Rand totally against foreign aid, period? Unlike his father, he doesn't seem to have any actual animus towards the country, and in fact has been rather favorable towards it during the conflict.

Sucks that he can't explain himself honestly. Really, the financial aid to Israel is a far smaller concern than the diplomatic aid America provides in the UN.

In order to win a republican primary, he at least has to suck up to Israel a little bit. Ugh Sad
