Amusing video….Paul's in Iowa, seated next to Steve King.  He takes one bite of his sandwich, but when King is confronted by a woman who says that she's a DREAMer, Paul appears to flee the scene in order to avoid being drawn into a politically problematic "Youtube moment":

Knowing Steve King, I'm sure Rand was smart enough to realize that this wouldn't end well.

This. And it's a pretty astute move on Rand's part to separate himself from the situation. I think this is another sign that he's going to make a run in 2016.

How does that piece of human garbage keep getting elected in an R+4 district? Bachmann almost lost even in an R+10 one.

He's smart for playing defense, but he'll have to answer these questions eventually.

Maybe he just prefers to answer that at a time when Steve King is not part of the conversation.

It wasn't Rand who initiated the movement.  It was his aide.  Kudos to the aide for getting him up and out.

Despite what the democrats will say in this thread, Rand did the right thing getting the hell away from that conversation.

Indeed.  Nobody should ever have to put up with having one's ideology directly questioned by a sweaty member of the great unwashed.

It was right the first time.

You're right. Rand Paul shouldn't have to explain his policy positions. He should get a pass on this when he runs for President, as well.

It was obvious he was avoiding King and his racism, so as not to be tied with that mess

If Rand was escaping potential embarrassment caused by King then perhaps he shouldn't associate with him in the first place?
