There are lots of both plans that I like, and some things I have problems with. Can't weight them out now, a debate would be interesting.

Same here.  I would give Plan A an edge though.  The only problem is that I'm not sure there will be enough savings to pay for the tax cuts.
That was my concern as well. I suppose some compromise can be made on taxes to help stomp out a deficit.
